Introducing NEW Violet Crumble CARAMEL!
~ Monday 31 August 2020 ~
WHEN ICONIC FLAVOURS COLLIDE ONE SWEET, SHATTERING BITE AT A TIME
Introducing Violet Crumble Caramel. A shattering new addition to Australian households, the bite-sized cubes offer a fresh take on an Aussie classic – legendary crisp shattering honeycomb covered in a creamy caramel flavoured white choc.
Coming at a time when Aussies need a treat thanks to 2020, Violet Crumble Caramel is positioned as the flavour combination of the decade that will help you forget the past eight months.
Phil Sims, CEO said; “It’s been a challenging year for all Australians, to say the least, and we know that our sweet flavour combinations offer some satisfying relief and escapism, bringing some fun back into the day and shattering cravings.” “When we first trialled the new flavour combo we instantly knew we were on to something. You bite into that smooth caramel flavour, followed by the shattering sharpness of the honeycomb and it smells incredible!”
From the introduction of the Violet Crumble Dark bar last year and the Violet Crumble Dark bag released in Autumn, Violet Crumble has also been released as Nuggets, an Easter egg and even a Streets Violet Crumble x Gaytime since we brought the brand back to Australian ownership in 2018.
“When we took ownership of Violet Crumble, we had the freedom to innovate and trial different formats and flavours of the iconic bar to appeal to constantly evolving trends, and with Caramel we really did it, we’re onto a winner.”
The Violet Crumble Caramel 170g bag is available nationally in Woolworths stores and online at an RRP of $4.40.
Get ready for FruChoc Appreciation Day
~ Friday August 21 2020 ~
Calling all FruChocaholics and sweet tooths alike! Please join us in celebrating the most glorious day in the calendar.... FruChocs Appreciation Day! One whole day for you to indulge in the iconic chocolate coated peach and apricot balls, that have been produced right here in SA for over 70 years.
With an exciting focus on local collaborations to commemorate the special day this year, we are treating you to TWO limited edition FruChoc beer flavours by Adelaide’s Big Shed Brewing Concern. Available from midday Friday at Big Shed Brewing, Royal Park, the BruChoc beer that has already received cult status following last years limited edition releases will be sold as cans in 8 packs, four packs and singles and on tap. It will also be available to buy at local bottle shops!
Using real ingredients from Menz FruChocs with flavours boasting rich chocolate, peach and apricot, the craft beer sent people nto a frenzy last year, selling out of bottles in just 13 minutes at the brewery and beer taps ran dry within hours, and rumours even circulated of individual bottles being sold for a whopping $100 online by those lucky enough to score the chocolatey ale.
The team at Big Shed have concocted an extra special treat for those who visit the brewery with the extremely limited FruSour! Expect the tart taste from the centre of a FruChoc, made into a beer that tastes more like a dry white wine!
With a successful sour range already in the market, the brewing team added the dried peach and apricot fruit mince that make up the centre of a Menz FruChoc and let the fruit sugars ferment out. The result is a dry and tart refreshing beer full of flavour and straight from the heart of a FruChoc.
We have also collaborated with local illustrator Casey C to create a collection of custom designed gift boxes for our FruChoc products that will be availalable exclusively from The FruChocs Shops (Glynde, McLaren Vale, Hahandorf and online!).
The four designs incorporating FruChocs and packshots from past and present with captivating imagery, weave in illustrations of the South Australian state flower, the Sturt’s Desert Pea, in a pop-art style.
Known for creating bright, bold and humorous illustrations that play on South Australian nostalgia, Casey’s artwork has been featured by the likes of ShitAdelaide and Fritz Magazine.
The limited-edition boxes are available exclusively from 21 August 2020 in the Menz FruChocs shops in Glynde, Hahndorf and McLaren Vale and are set to become collectors’ items!
Our stores are also offering 25% off storewide on the day and the online store will extend this offer so interstate and overseas friends don’t miss out on the FruChocs fun!
We will also have TWO pop up shops at Westfield Tea Tree Plaza and Westfield Marion so you can to stock up on treats, but hurry, we're at these locations for one day only.

Robern Menz is recipient of Federal Grant funding to support manufacture of Polly Waffle
We are pleased to be one of a number of companies receiving grants from the Commonwealth Manufacturing Modernisation Fund, announced today.
The funds provided by the grant will go a long way to supporting the production of the Polly Waffle chocolate bar, right here in Australia. The significant contribution gives us the confidence to move forward, and purchase vital equipment to support the production of Polly Waffle at our factory in Adelaide.
The grant allows us to create 38 new full time jobs within the Polly Waffle production line – who will be recruited over the next two years.
This means that we are one step closer to getting Polly Waffle back into production and into the hands of customers. We do not currently have a definitive date for launch but are anticipating Polly Waffle will be back on shelves in late 2021. We kindly do ask for patience from fans as we know how important it is that the final product meets people’s expectations and that takes time to perfect.
We will ensure the public is kept up to date as and when there is news to share regarding the timeline for Polly Waffle
FruChocs for Firies
We are pleased to announce that 100% of proceeds from all Menz FruChoc products sold for one week to be donated to the CFS Foundation
From today for one week, 100% of proceeds from all Menz FruChoc products sold will be donated to the CFS Foundation. The donation applies to all FruChoc products sold across Australia.
The start of the bushfire season has been devastating for communities across the country, and it’s particularly sad for us to see the impact locally, most notably at Cudlee Creek and on Kangaroo Island. As a proud South Australian business, we want to support where we can.
We’d love for Menz FruChocs fans to dig deep and stock up on their favourite snack this week, and we’ll donate all proceeds to the CFS Foundation, providing much-needed support to volunteer firefighters and their families.
Menz FruChocs are widely available in retailers across South Australia, and in Big W and selected IGA stores in other states and territories.

We've welcomed some new ‘Friendz’ to the family
Introducing the NEW Menz Friendz and Menz Mango JeliChocs!
The new Menz Friendz range is inspired by those childhood lollies we all know and love, and is available in the perfect party trio of snakes, bananas and milk bottles, and what’s more, they are gluten free and contain no artificial flavours or colours.
Earlier this year, we worked to ensure our factory no longer contained any trace of gluten in any product or machinery used within the factory so that all products produced, including the popular FruChocs range, Choc Honeycomb and Crown Mints, are all clearly marked as gluten-free.
We're excited to add Menz Friendz to our extensive range of more than 100 products after research identified a gap in the market for a reasonably priced, gluten free, locally made and owned lolly range perfect for kids’ parties and the occasional treat.
It’s a wonderful feeling to expand our product listing to include those childhood favourite lollies that have been passed down for generations, and have them in the form of our Friendz range. Being 100% gluten free and having no artificial flavours or colours gives Menz Friendz a key point of difference when compared to other similar products on the market.
The new Friendz range is available at Big W stores nationally, as well as IGA, Foodland, Drakes and Cheap as Chips in South Australia.
Menz Mango JeliChocs
Robern Menz has also expanded its beloved Menz JeliChocs range from Turkish Delight and Raspberry to the newly introduced Mango flavour, so you can now enjoy a delicious gluten free tropical jellied fruit smothered in chocolate.
