We are committed to delivering high quality, value for money food and treat products to Australians and abroad not just today but for the future. Sustainability and our corporate responsibility drives our way of thinking and influences our decision making at Menz Confectionery.

It is important to us that we have an active role in our community, the very community that contains the numerous people who passionately support our brands and enjoy buying and consuming our products.

Community engagement includes significant ongoing support for charitable organisations, community and sporting clubs, local events and many other worthy causes. Last year Menz Confectionery supported directly and indirectly over 220 community initiatives where our support has assisted those organisations raise valuable funds to support their cause. Mechanisms by which we connect include our Mr FruChoc mascot appearances with product sampling and giveaways, raffle baskets, donations, numerous marketing fundraising events, sponsorships and presentations.  

Treating people with respect and valuing our employees is a vital ingredient in our sustainability platform. Menz Confectionery is a 4th generation family business (owned by the Sims family) that celebrated its centenary in 2008. Throughout the decades, members of the Sims family have worked side by side with our people and with our valued stakeholders. The values of respect and rewarding contribution have been upheld to the highest of values within the organisation. It is no coincidence that the organisation enjoys the loyalty of numerous long serving employees.

Menz Confectionery sustainability economically differs significantly to many. As a family business, strategically we are less focused on decision making that produces short term immediate results for shareholders. We are more focused on practices that will strengthen the company over the long term for the benefit of the next generation of family ownership and indeed for all stakeholders.

We actively advocate on key industry issues and our executives are members of numerous government, not for profit and industry associations.

We are very aware of the role we have on the environment. We seek to ensure we are leaving a planet to our children that can be enjoyed and appreciated. Menz Confectionery continues to lead the market in major environmental initiatives (becoming the first Australian manufacturer to use sustainable and segregated Palm Oil in its compound chocolate).

We are a proud supporter of the Barry Callebaut Cocoa Horizons Foundation. Although we are a relatively small player in the global cocoa market, we are dedicated to ending extreme poverty in cocoa growing communities.  Menz Confectionery is 100% committed to working closely with our supply chain and will be sourcing 100% of our cocoa sustainably by 2020.

Working in collaboration with cocoa supplier Barry Callebaut, the Cocoa Horizons Foundation, cocoa farmers and their communities in West Africa, we are devoted to ensuring our supply chain is sustainable, resilient and will allow us to meet increasing consumer demands into the future. Through our relationship with the Cocoa Horizons Foundation, it is our mission to improve the livelihoods of cocoa farmers and their communities through sustainable, entrepreneurial farming, improved productivity and community development.
